Frequently Asked Questions

Please Note:

We do not have an herbalist or any other type of health care practitioners on staff. Our customer service team cannot prescribe, recommend, or make claims about the properties or efficacy of our herbs.

How Soon Can I Expect My Order?

We are first and foremost a working farm so we can't guarantee any ship time frames. During certain times of the year, it could take up to seven workdays to pack and ship your order. During the summer months it is peak time of year for bringing in and processing our own crops. If you need something by a certain date, please let us know and we'll do our best. We thank you for understanding and appreciate your patience!

What’s the difference between Regenerative Organic Certified®, Certified Organic, wild-harvested, and grown without chemicals?

Regenerative Organic Certified® herbs are certified through the Regenerative Organic Alliance and grown on our Regenerative Organic Certified® farm in southern Oregon.

Certified Organic means that an herb is Certified Organic through the National Organic Program and is “generally” cultivated. Some wild-harvested products become Certified Organic because an organic certification agency will come to the wild land and certify it before the crop is wild-harvested.

Wild Harvested means that an herb is collected in its native habitat/environment. We have strict criteria that our wild harvesters must adhere to in order to preserve plant populations and other harvest protocols.

Grown Without Chemicals are sourced from a trusted grower or supplier who cultivates the herbs without chemicals. Often, the supplier was Certified Organic at one time but elected not to maintain their Certified Organic status because of the expenses associated with the process.

When is product available?

We do our best to predict our stock needs on an annual basis, but the availability of herbs grown on our farm and those we contract with are dictated by the growing seasons. If we experience an increased sale of a particular herb, we sometimes run out of product before the next harvest is available. Note that each year aerial portions of the plant are generally harvested in the summer months, processed, and ready for sale by mid-October. Roots are harvested in the late fall or early winter months and are generally ready for sale by the end of November/beginning of December.

How can I be notified when an out-of-stock herb is back in stock?

You can sign up for a back-in-stock notification on a product's page. As soon as the product is in stock you will receive an email notification.

Can I back-order herbs that are out of stock?

No, our business model is not set up to accommodate these types of requests. See above question about out-of-stock notifications.

How do I get fresh (non-dried) herbs that are shipped out the same day?

Our harvest times vary from year to year and fresh herbs are harvested at the height of their peak. You can get a general sense of harvest times and frequency here. You need to call us a minimum of one month in advance of the estimated harvest. When the fresh harvest is ready to ship you will receive an automated call asking you to call us to verify that you are still interested and can take the product.

Can you tell me the claims related to a particular herb?

According to FDA guidelines, we cannot make any claims for our botanicals. Any information about our herbs on the website, or our publications is for educational purposes only. This information has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, nor is it intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Do you have formulas or recipes for herbal preparations?

At Pacific Botanicals, we only provide only the raw materials. The rest of the fun stuff is up to you!

How can I determine the country of origin for the herbs I am ordering?

Do you have a print catalog?
